Corine van Huissteden
Corine van Huissteden began meditating in 2009 in the cramped dorm room of a friend. She is one of the few Europeans authorised to facilitate the Social Meditation practice developed by Nick Kranz. Before the pandemic, she facilitated social meditation evenings weekly for 3 years, and the Youth Nights at Shambhala Arnhem & Amsterdam since 2014. She is a meditation instructor and core staff member for the Young SITA Meditation Retreats. In her daily life, she works as a researcher in a big Dutch peat preservation research project.

Sophie le Roux
Sophie's meditation history is relatively short, but growing well. She loves to experience events within analogue settings as organiser, photographer and participant. There are two strands to her photography practice: documentation of arts and cultural events, and capturing textures in the natural world.
Network of thanks
There is a Zen meal chant that begins ‘Seventy-two labours brought us this food’. Our work at Black Mountain Meditation would be impossible without the financial, practical and emotional support of the following people and many more besides. We are extremely grateful.
